Cronulla’s chances of coming away from Newcastle with two crucial competition points have taken a massive hit with star halfback Nicho Hynes ruled out for at least this week after suffering a thigh injury at training.

The playmaker is set to be replaced in the starting side by veteran Matt Moylan, who will start at five-eighth with Braydon Trindall taking over as chief playmaker.
