Record-holder NRL referee Ben Cummins to retire

He grew up in Canberra watching the likes of Mal Meninga, Ricky Stuart and Gary Belcher playing at Seiffert Oval, a point that would’ve been lost on many Raiders fans in the 2019 grand final when Cummins made a critical error.

With eight minutes remaining, he signalled six again when a Canberra bomb came down and appeared to come off the back of Roosters fullback James Tedesco.

Jack Wighton was at the centre of the controversial ‘six-again’ call by Cummins in the 2019 NRL grand final.
