The author of an incendiary report into alleged racism at Hawthorn Football Club has been charged with more than 70 fraud offences over allegations he siphoned hundreds of thousands of dollars from Murray Valley Aboriginal Co-operative.
Phil Egan, who played 125 games for Richmond between 1982 and 1990, was charged with 32 counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception, and 33 counts of using false documents by detectives from the Financial Crime Squad.
