A mystery letter levelling “incorrect” and “defamatory” allegations against senior staff at the City of Perth has sparked further inquiries by the Department of Local Government, which has issued a demand for more information.

The department’s Director General Lanie Chopping has given the city until Wednesday to comply with a notice for information requested, which the notice says stemmed from an anonymous letter received in August.
