Melbourne thump Collingwood by 42 points as Demons lift AFLW flag and send message to the chasing pack

Melbourne have survived an early scare from a Brianna Davey-led Collingwood to kick off their AFLW premiership defence with a convincing 42-point win in the season opener.

The Demons, who lined up with 19 players from last year’s grand final triumph, trailed by as many as 14 points before half-time on Friday night.
